1. Private Motor Vehicle Insurance

Individuals who own motor vehicles are compulsorily required to obtain insurance cover. Owners of vehicles below 10 years old are able to take up comprehensive cover, while owners of vehicles above 10 years are able to purchase only 3rd party liability cover.

2. Travel Insurance

Available to individuals or the family, on a per trip or annual basis. There is no limit to the number of trips insured, but each trip is limited to 90 days. Travel zones are divided into a number of sectors, with premiums fixed by the insurers for these sectors.

Travel insurance covers the insured in respect of personal accident, permanent disability, or death, or injury and medical expenses incurred. Further property loss or damage is also covered, subject to the limit of indemnity insured.

3. Household Insurance

Individuals can either insure their property (movable and immovable) should they own the property, or only the contents if the premise is leased. The latter is suitable for expatriates on leased premises.

Immovable property includes the building, its structure, garages and outbuildings. Movable property includes household contents, cash, jewellery, antiques, etc.

4. Personal Accident Insurance

This covers the insured in the event of death, or if the insured is permanently incapacitated or disabled.

5. Maid Insurance

This covers the following:

  • Letter of Guarantee
  • Personal Accident Cover for the Maid
  • Hospital And Surgical Expenses
  • Wages and Levy Compensation
  • Repatriation Expenses
