Your Role as an Independent Adviser
Essentially, you build a financial planning practice that helps individuals and corporate clients manage their financial affairs through a process of wealth management, accumulation and protection (MAP).
Covering the areas of estate distribution, insurance, investment, retirement, business continuity, as well as tax and trust planning, you analyse your clients' financial priorities, cashflow patterns, net worth positions, investment objectives and risk tolerance, to uncover potential problem areas and provide solutions to help them achieve their financial goals.
This requires a systematic process of understanding and diagnosing your clients' financial situation, through
- Gathering the necessary data
- Developing strategies and implementing the necessary course of action
- Monitoring your clients' portfolios and consulting with them to keep their financial plans on track
